    24 free judo technique illustrations

Post by Michael-H on Sun Aug 11, 2013 11:55 pm

So far there are 24 illustrations licensed under the Creative commons - attribution, share-alike - license, which means you may do anything you want with them, including changing them however you wish and selling them for profit, as long as the source is mentioned and the resulting artwork is also made free to use under the same conditions.

We've used them to make some posters, and pictures for the dojo. Like the one below. You can download the collage, and the individual pictures from: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hultstrom/sets/72157632298341948/

These are some really beautiful illustrations - Have you considered completing the nage-waza set and/or katame-waza set?

Of course, in the end they should both be complete. I am aiming for Gokyo first, but that will take quite a while. And, thank you.

The nagewaza set now includes all of the 1920 Gokyo.

Now my vacation is over so don't expect more before Christmas or so.

    Absolutely splendid Michael.

Thank you for your time and your talent. I will definately be using them. And possibly trying my hand at choosing one to try copy as an oil, if that is in order?

    Davaro,

Thanks. That is certainly in order. You can do what ever you want with them. The only thing you can not do is claim copyright for the derivative, but then an oil is a physical object at a completely other level than digital sketches and can't be easily shared anyway. And attribution doesn't have to be on the front or even in writing on such a unique object as an oil painting. (Unless you hang it in public, say at the Kodokan, in which case I would like a plaque, a gold plaque...)

    Hahaha Thanks Michael...

My attempt would, at best, hang in my office...

... and I work from home
