I should imagine the male red kangaroo can give people a serious beating, but it seems deaths are very rare.

Googled it, and apparently these guys have serious claws on their back legs and have been known to gut both dogs and people. So, they are potential harak-kiri guys ?  silent

He'd go on and on for many years about how kangaroos shouldn't be fighting, that no one would pay to watch kangaroos fight and that they aren't very good at it. Until there was a kangaroo that he could make money off, in which case he'd change all his old opinions and institute a kangaroo division in the UFC.

I think this calls for a police investigation.  Steve are you listening? How did this kangaroo learn to do hadaka-jime?

Were some Aussie judoka outside in a park training away, and not noticing the joey lurking in the bushes taking notes?

Or did some albino kangaroo show up and a short-sighted Aussie Sensei thought he was wearing a gi, and took him on as a student?

Or did hadaka-jime originate with the kangaroo family, and only by chance when during a severe storm was a kangaroo carried by the currents e.i. like the Kon-tiki expedition, to Japan.  From there he was befriended by an early Samurai and so taught him the technique.

Hence, this is why early Japanese schools/styles of martial arts were called roo.  Later spelling changed to ryu.

Of course, I have other hypotheses, but they involve intergalactic travel and starships.  Cool

between this and, "Battle at Kruger," I'm kind of feeling sorry for lions.

we have to stick them (lion and ox) in a cage and make them fight. For their betterment.lol

aw, where is the Far Side joke where it shows two giant aliens, one holding a jar with two earthling astronauts in it. The one alien says to the other, "hey, shake it and see if they'll fight".

Dunno about that strategy, dude. It takes a special sort of bloke to touch that body part in another guy ... Mad

I also was surprised that those killeroos are so tall.

Indeed, and I don't think the effectiveness of that particular strategy is limited to Killeroos either, I would think any animal with externals would most likely be susceptible to this tactic. Of course this manoeuvre would be impossible under IJF rules, I'm unsure of the exact rules regarding biting faces off though.  What a Face
