Anatol I'm guessing you have a high strength to weight mass either that or you are very gifted.

Both! Wouldn't be possible, if one is missing, 'cause I am over 45 and fighting judoka between 18 und 32. My first Sensei said, I will become an Europian Champion and my second Sensei said, I would have become .. if I hadn't stopped. But I think strength is also a gift (genetics). But age can't be turned back and I have to be very cautious of injury off all joints (shoulders, knees and ankles) and I am getting gased out after minute 3. So I have to decide shiais within tree minutes. Which are the gifts? Strength, good balance (its very hard to throw me), good feeling for Kuzushi, variability, no fear and cold blood in competition and

open mind, willing to learn, asking a lot, loving Judo over all. Competition is just a little but funny and also challenging part.

Couple of questions what techniques did you win these shia with (including newaza). What happened if your sensei said you were gifted enough to compete in world class events why did you stop?

I have only had one "very gifted" young player who within months was competing and beating what are now called cadet squad members, but I lost him to football he is now playing for Norwich football club. Good for him and family but its a "if only" for me.

Aussie, your reading skills make other posters in this thread pale in comparison.

I am sitting here deciding whether to send one of them a PM in very simple terms explaining that some answers were written with tongues very firmly in cheek and with extreme lacings of sarcasm.

Due to language barriers, they have clearly gone far over some heads.

I am actually embarrassed that some of us are actually taking the piss out of one that does not understand this to be the case...

That's the funniest thing I've read in ages!

As a Kiwi, I'm devastated that I did not write it first! Anyway, thanks for the giggle.

I take exception to that! In no way was I attempting to take the piss. It was a deliberate conscience act!

I do agree though I think it has gone too fare now. Someone needs send a few PM's with diagrams attached. I wonder if Tea-Time has returned? affraid

@ Hannon Sensei - I stand corrected... However, one can only take the piss if the piss-giver knows this to be the case, no? hehehe

Reminds me of the time I had to correct Daigo Sensei on his ashi-waza. Must have been about 2 years ago now.
