Is this surprising to anyone? Top judo athletes have a much more demanding competition schedule, with far more matches every year, and very little down time for recovery. Judo competition is also much higher level and challenging for someone like Rhonda. It seems only natural that trying to qualify for and then compete in the Olympics is more taxing on the body than defending an MMA title with 16 second matches twice a year.

French mma fighter and judoka (trained in Japanese ju jitsu and kickboxing too) Karl Amoussu said the same thing. Judo is harder than MMA, after a judo session he wasn't able eveto to rub his forehead.

Agreed. Top level judoka are the toughest athletes in the world, they need to be, otherwise they could not compete.
