    Australian Masters Games.

Post by Steve Leadbeater on Sun Oct 04, 2015 8:35 pm

After missing out on the Kata Competition due to the withdrawal of both Kata partners
from the Mens Kime no Kata and the Mixed pairs Kime no Kata, I still had the Shiai to look forward to,
I was not disappointed, I had some great hard fights in the Senior Mens 50-59 years O90kg and
the Senior Mens over 50 -59 years open divisions, picking up a Silver medal and podium place in both events.

had to correct to read "was not" disappointed Smile

Does that officially make you a silver back?

    Congrats, Steve!

Good job. My hat's off to those old judo hands who still compete.

Nice stuff Steve. I didn't make it over to Adelaide - I was diagnosed with a cancer late last year for which I have had to go through surgery and chemotherapy. While that all looks clear now, I have yet to get my head back into competition mode and as such, while a few others from my club were able to make the trip, I didn't join them this time around.

Good heavens, I had absolutely no idea, I hadn't heard from you for so long, I thought you'd dropped off the radar.
Fight that bastard and get back on the mats as soon as you can.

No, I'm still kicking around, but I haven't done any competition since Nationals last year. While I'm probably fit enough to get back into competition (and I've dropped to the U100 category), my head isn't really there yet. This being said, I'm considering getting back into it with a smaller local competition that is coming up at the end of the month.
