Personal note - When I started judo in 1954 in Phoenix, AZ Ken was the sensei at Rendokan dojo in Tucson (about 120 miles of Phoenix, AZ. He was always helping judo students, regardless of what dojo they were from. I had many discussion with him throughout the years. He will be missed.

Sensei Ken Carson was a great teacher. I trained under him for less than a year and sadly didn't keep in touch after I moved away from Tucson. But I have kept his teachings close to my heart. His passion for Judo was evident in everything he did. You can find a little bit more about him in this older article: http://tucsoncitizen.com/morgue2/2001/06/29/90850-cost-demands-throw-judo-for-loss-in-arizona/
