Jiu jitsu 101 in a no gi match

Post by Dutch Budo on Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:48 pm

Last weekend I got a first place in the dutch grappling championships. In the preliminaries I took everybody down and played a high pressure top game which I was very proud of, finally pieces came together. But in this semi final match I was against a strong wrestler so I decided to pull guard and work a very basic gameplan of breaking his posture and walking up my legs. You can see the importance of hipmovement here and control of your opponents posture. I remember our most famous troll on here telling me my instructional about the triangle from guard was not realistic, I think this shows that it was. A million times practising this move, and it pops out on a very important match.

Well done!  Congrats on the win and keep posting your videos, I love checking them out when you put them up.

Well done. @1:30 were you thinking of switching to Juji gatame?
